- Sónar advances the first artists for 2019
Sonar 2019
The first shows of Sónar 2019, along with this years SonarImage - starring the iconic actress Ángela Molina - are unveiled.
Among the first names are the new live shows of two of the main figures in global hip-hop: the American rapper A$AP Rocky, who will bring his new show to the main stage of Sónar by Night and the UK artist Skepta, a key name in grime and global rap.
Disclosure, the British brothers who have led the revival in house music, will debut at Sónar in DJ show format, to present new material which will anticipate the sounds of their next album: "2019 will be a year in which we are going to do something very different to everything we have done before. Sónar will be the decisive moment of our summer and the show we've always wanted to play". For his part, the Berliner Paul Kalkbrenner will present his eighth album "Parts of Life" at the festival - a work full of perfect techno melodies totally designed for the dance floor.
As well as the new audiovisual shows by Actress, Deena Abdelwahed and Lotic, frontier pushing concerts by Nicola Cruz and K Á R Y Y N, top level DJ sets by Dixon, Floating Points (6h set), Maya Jane Coles, Amelie Lens, Artwork, Blawan & Dax J, and Ross From Friends, Andy C, FKJ, Bad Gyal and Octavian, among many others.
The 26th edition of Sónar in Barcelona will be an extraordinary celebration, presenting a total of 130 shows on 18, 19 and 20 July 2019 at the venues of Sónar by Day (Fira Montjuïc de Barcelona) and Sónar by Night (Gran Via de L'Hospitalet). The festival will return in 2020 to its usual dates in the month of June.
