LGTBI+ Pride Madrid 2023
Madrid is one of the most popular LGTBIQA+ destinations in the world, and this week marks the start of its Gay Pride festivities, which will run until July 2nd, attracting thousands of people.
The performances will kick off on Wednesday, June 28th, in celebration of the International Day of LGBTIQ+ Pride. Throughout the week, a multitude of activities, parties, talks, sports competitions, and musical performances will fill the city's most emblematic squares.
National and international artists will be performing for free on 4 stages: "Muestra tu orgullo" (Show Your Pride) at Plaza de España, "Plaza de las reinas" (Queens' Square) at Plaza del Rey, "Orgullo de Chueca" (Chueca Pride) at Pedro Zerolo, and "Orgullo de Europa" (Europe Pride) at Callao.
This year, Pride coincides with a historic moment: the start of Spain's Presidency of the European Union, taking over from Sweden. For this reason, MADO Madrid Pride 2023 has a strong European focus, with European artists, culture, and social and human rights issues that are currently being discussed on the continent being featured in the programming and content.
The main event will be the grand state march on the afternoon of the first Saturday of July, on the 1st, which will serve as the pinnacle of the celebratory and advocacy moments of the festivities. The march will go from Atocha (Paseo del Prado, near the Botanical Garden) to Colón, advocating for tolerance and equality towards the LGTBIQA+ community.
Here are the HIGHLIGHTED DATES of MADO 2023:
Friday, June 23rd - CHUECA'S PRIDE
The neighborhood Pride celebrations kick off with events and activities in Chueca's venues.

Friday, June 30th - 16th EDITION MR. GAY SPAIN

Sunday, July 2nd - CLOSING OF MADO '23

Ocean Drive Madrid, in its commitment to diversity and equal rights, is once again sponsoring MADO 2023 by providing accommodation and spaces for various organizations. On Tuesday, June 27th, the press conference for the European LGBTI Handball Championship will be held at the hotel's sky bar. On Wednesday, June 28th, accreditations will be given to all athletes, and the tournament's draw will take place. On Friday, June 30th, the European LGBTI Press Association will meet at the sky bar. Through these actions, we aim to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community and our dedication to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment in all our establishments.
For 10 days, the streets and squares of Madrid will be adorned with the colors of all the community's flags. Access the complete program here so you don't miss anything!
