The jury of InterCIDEC Awards 2020

The InterCIDEC 2020 jury includes OD GROUP's CEO, Marc Rahola Matutes, and other professionals from the hotel and design sector.

Marc Rahola Matutes has been appointed by the organization of the International Contract Environment Design Awards, InterCIDEC, to chair the jury of the 2020 Edition. A jury that will meet this Thursday, October 8, at the facilities of Beltá & Frajumar, a furniture manufacturer in Yecla (Murcia) and company that has organized the competition.

The renowned business strategist Marc Rahola Matutes is CEO and founder of OD Group, a holding company that includes businesses in the hotel industry, real estate, architecture, construction... His constant desire for new challenges and the evolution of the businesses he has founded have led him to build and manage hotels in Ibiza, Mallorca, Barcelona, the Costa Azul and Madrid, in addition to developing luxury real estate in Ibiza and Andorra.

The jury of InterCIDEC 2020 will also be made up of great professionals from the hotel industry. Among them, it is worth mentioning the presence of Javier Fernández, head of purchasing at IKOS Hotels Andalusia; Jérôme Gateau, general manager of La Sella Golf & Resort, and María José Gómez Martín, manager of GV Apartments Smart For Rentals.

Designers and hotel production companies will also be part of the 2020 jury, including the designer David García, project manager of the Ramón García Group; the designer Vicente Gallega, from the Galician Design studio; Francisco Pérez, manager of SUTEGA Equipamiento Integral, and José Antonio Alonso, winner of the InterCIDEC 2019 edition.

Finally, María Luisa Ruiz de Velasco, from the communication sector, commercial director of the HEARST publishing group, will also be present, with emblematic titles such as: Nuevo Estilo, Elle Decoration, Mi Casa, Casa Diez...

An edition focused on tourist apartments, increasingly in demand by users.

This fifth edition has closed with more than 50 proposals, from a dozen countries, which will be evaluated by the jury in just a few days. The theme of this edition has focused on the interior design of a Sustainable Tourist Apartment, which is having so much acceptance by consumers and that, in its assessment will count the environmental aspect and sustainable proposals in both the quality of design and creative skills of the author or authors.

Most of the projects presented in this edition correspond to the GENESIS category, whose proposal deals with the INTERIOR DESIGN of a Sustainable Tourist Apartment of between 40 and 60m² approximately (with a single prize of 3000 euros in cash) and to a lesser extent to the new WORK category, which refers to projects already carried out and executed by professionals (with 3000 euros in promotion and broadcasting in the media).

In terms of the origin of the projects, Spain leads the number of proposals submitted, followed by Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, and European countries like the Netherlands and Italy. Some of them presented projects for the first time.

The decision of InterCIDEC 2020, in an extraordinary way, will be made public at the end of the Jury meeting, on October 8, since, due to the limitations offered by the COVID-19, it is not advisable to hold a specific event for the awards, as has been done in the four previous editions. The winners of this edition will be announced publicly and will also be made known through the social media in which Beltá Frajumar is present.
