In "Colors and Corners", Yolanda Paneque presents us with her two lines of work. On one hand, abstract works of acrylic painting in large format in which she experiments with glazes and textures, resulting in combinations of color that vary throughout the creative process.
On the other hand, in a more figurative line, she takes a tour of various corners of Madrid combining painting, digital illustration, and photography, filling the streets with Panekoids, quick stroke characters that flood the streets.
Yolanda Paneque
Málaga, 1988
Malaga-born artist based in Madrid with a touch of Paris and Rome in her brushes, cities where she has spent long periods of time.
Attracted to the visual arts and drawing from a very young age, she began her professional training in the world of literature while continuing to experiment with painting, trying new techniques, materials, and formats.
Her [Paneques] are vibrant, energetic, and with a common element: the explosion of color. Her work is a chromatic journey in which, in addition to strokes with a lot of personality, we find messages extracted from books or newspapers, allowing painting and letters to be united on the same canvas.
In this exhibition, she dedicates a space of illustrations to Madrid, the city where she has been living for 10 years.
