As of today, my art is my thoughts. Represented through colors, because colors speak and convey emotions.
This is how I express what I think each day or what frequently happens to me: a meal, a color, numbers, people… and I put it all there. It’s like an album of memories. And of course, everything is captured using that incredible technique so many of you ask me about.
Well, the technique came about because I always wanted to create those textured paintings using paste (or whatever material is used). One day, while experimenting and adding color, I realized it wasn’t turning out the way I wanted, and I started to feel frustrated. So I took a spatula and began dragging all the paint from one end of the canvas to the other. That way, I was left with a smooth background I could let dry and later paint over (I used to paint with drips).
Then I fell into a loop of dragging the paint and noticed that the effect it created was something I loved. I decided to start adding more layers of paint and dragging them too, until I realized I was falling in love with this way of painting and the results it gave me.
I kept painting a lot. Every day I created new pieces and discovered how to add little details that fascinated me.
And that’s when I also understood that, thanks to painting, I was teaching myself. I realized that in the moment I felt most frustrated with my art, by allowing myself to simply be, inspiration came. A new chapter began—one that highlights the importance of appreciating and enjoying the process.
