Exhibition "CAMPOS DE IBIZA"
It is a series of 12 medium and small format paintings with the theme of our Ibiza fields from the photo sessions carried out by myself as is the process of all my paintings. Flowers that at the beginning of the sessions broke my heart to see the flower that was alone in a completely dry landscape due to the lack of the rains we were so eagerly waiting for.
Then the long-awaited rains came, and in my collection you can see the first paintings of the brave solitary flower on a gray background, moving to our green flowering fields. In the exhibition, there will also be some paintings from other exhibitions.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
My name is Cristina Ferrer, I was born on the island of Ibiza where I reside, but I always say that I have one foot on each Pitiusa island, Ibiza and Formentera, because I have always been on both islands since I was born, and they inspire all the themes for my paintings. Because our islands have been and always will be a source of inspiration for artists. Our islands give me so much love and life that I want to capture the passage of my life in my paintings.
I am a self-taught painter with a personalized realistic style, and my technique is oil on canvas, which I have been developing for more than 15 years. It is the technique with which I feel most comfortable and with which I plan to continue painting until the end of my days.
I have taken classes with several great painting masters, both national and international, from whom I have taken a piece of each to achieve my own style.
The development of my paintings is based on a photo session made by myself to then transfer it to my canvases and give it the personal touch that will make each painting have my distinctive mark.
Currently, I am a member of the artists of IBIZA ART GUIDE, ASOCIACIO ART AMB B, FUNDACIÓN BALEARIA. I have held numerous collective and individual exhibitions on the islands and mainland.
Several of my works are scattered in different parts of Europe.
I want my paintings to reflect the life I have spent on the islands when I am no longer in this world. That is why I want to paint Ibiza and Formentera today.
